humanity and kindness

for all my life, i would say that i mostly have only experienced things in a secondhand way. either from what i read, someone’s story, or movies that i watched. it almost feels like all my knowledge was a theory that i had to learn; a theory that i had to hold as a valuable principle. it has automatically imprinted in my brain because people said so — books and movies are also human’s work. not that i say it’s worthless or wrong — of course not, rather it blew my mind when we — i am actually experiencing things in a firsthand way.

i know people are different in so many things. i try not to compare myself with others, that’s why i’m talking from my point of view only, and through my memories, my whole life only. there’s something indescribable about being kind to others; about why we need to say beautiful things; about why we need to hold fewer grudges and spread loving acts; about why we need to care.

i think people need to know the ‘why’s first. as i said, it’s indescribable sometimes. it is a feeling that touches your heart. not only a theory — as i said earlier.

once again, i know people are different in so many things. especially the intensity of sympathy and empathy. therefore, how do we get the same measurement for this kind of thing?

i think it’s as simple as common sense, and humans are already born with it. that is what makes humans, human.

recently i joined a volunteer program. we went to a few local traditional markets, met a few people; traders; sellers, and talk to them. we asked about their day and work. several people got defensive and unfriendly. but mostly showed a happy and grateful faces after sharing their burden away. people need to be heard and someone to talk to about their emotions, that’s one note that i took. On another day we visited the rehabilitation center for disabilities. we talked, played, and danced with them, one more note about humanity. some other days we played with children, sang, and danced with zero worries, they gave so much vibrant joy, and energy.

a secondhand experience gives you advice, but the firsthand experience hits you differently, it touches your heart.

honestly, i’m not an expert in this field, it just comes from my afterthought.
