Summer of Nineteen

A typical trait of this season is noticeably hot temperature, although it means nothing compared to our tropical country, and yet, winter has made us get used to the cold.

It was the second year for most of us — living overseas. Delightedly welcoming summer break — some decided to fly thousands of miles reunited with beloved ones and some others chose to explore the new land.

A group of seven took an impulsive decision to make camp — cannot really recall how the plan was made. Only by the smell of salt, the sand between toes, the breeze of warm wind, and wet slippers did I know it was going to be a joyful moment.

We laughed, we played, in between sunset turning to sunrise. There were also some rides close to the beach — enough to boost our serotonin. Thumbs up to the boys were being so prepared to bring a guitar and camera.

All we did was enjoy the moment and captured every scene as much as we could. There were no ugly thoughts or bad feelings.

Little did I know, weeks later some trouble came out of this trip. I guess shit happens every unexpected time, or from every unexpected event.

Now, looking back, all I could think is: it’s funny how jealousy drives people to do things they don’t mean. Believing stuff they want to believe, despite the truth. Despising a person based on what they think, no matter the fact is.

In the end, what can we do? forcing someone will do nothing when the person refuses. We won’t waste time by begging to be believed when we did tell the truth, will we?

But that was only a bad day (obviously because it was on my birthday). As I said, shit happens every unexpected time, better be ready or get used to it.

Anyway, those days were spent well, if I could go back knowing the trouble would still happen, I won’t change a thing. It will always be kept as a memory.
